Edinburgh Queueing

What is it about folk in Edinburgh that they'll queue anywhere at a bus stop but in a single line facing the direction of the traffic. Against the wall. Facing the other way. Blocking the pavement. Moronic. Ingrained. You just want to pick them all up and show them an empty pavement and an orderly queue.
