Breakfast at the Diner
We were up and out of the house today by 11am on our way to Eddie Rocket's for breakfast.
We warmed up in the neon glow of the diner and sat in our booth whilst the waitress took our order. Luke had the super sizzler full breakfast, I had bacon and eggs with home fries and Jen had pancakes with bacon and maple syrup. We all had 'caw-fee' and Jen also had a chocolate malt shake. The photo is of Jenny after she had finished eating and was so full she thought she would have to roll to the cinema!
As we ate we listened to songs like Surfin' USA and Fame and we had 20c for the juke box machine so chose to put on Jackson 5 I Want You Back and we all grooved along.
After we had finished we walked across the river to Paperchase, Eason and Art & Hobby to look for paper and folders before heading in to Forever 21 where I bought a top for the Electric run on Saturday and then we headed to the cinema.
We booked tickets for the Lego movie then killed time by doing a bit more shopping in Penney's, a new accessory shop called Parfois where they have subtle giraffe handbags, and H&M.
We bought treats for the movie (sadly no Core Sundae from Ben & Jerry's this time as they are closed while they change to Baskin & Robbins, boo!) but I still got a pot of ice cream and we laughed along a lot to the movie.
After the film we walked back over the river to Exchequer bar where we had a cocktail each, Luke had a smokey old fashioned, I had a cherry popper and Jen had a banoffee cream pie.
Drinks finished we walked around the corner to Market Bar for dinner. We ordered some sangria and 4 plates of tapas - calamari, meatballs and patatas bravas and feta and chorizo salad and we had an extra plate of bravas as they are so yummy! As usual we were full before all the food was finished!
We got a taxi home and were all pretty tired so went to be sharpish after we were back, especially as I am working tomorrow.
Today I am grateful for good food, good times and good company.
