Old Beam

This beam runs across our dining room ceiling. I am very fond of it, partly because it looks so nice with it's texture and colour but also because it stops part of the upstairs coming downstairs!
It was probably an old ships beam at one time, many old houses were built using the wood from recycled ships! It looks a bit moth eaten but it is so hard it is difficult to get a nail into it.
Probably best viewed large to see the texture.
