Dances with midges

Sleeper

A much drier day than yesterday in suburban Sheffield, so a longer walk possible in the mid day break (to let the wind blow some of the facilitation and consensus training around in our skulls!). Always on the lookout for blips, my eye was caught by a slice of post-industrial South Yorkshire (well, it may be that!). The fence post in the field, which contained horses but had a 'sheepy' feel about it was a recycled old style wooden sleeper. The three holes for the bolts that once held the rails are like eyes and a little startled mouth (upside-down - well, maybe) and the only steel it has is the wire and staples, which I suspect do not come from Shefffield. Still semi-urban, but signs of the past in the present!
