All there in black and white
Time was, it was the only kind of photograph you could take.
Later on, it was the only way you could afford to take your own pictures and print them.
But always, it was the only proper kind of photography.
Serious. Important.
Everything else was just snaps.
Now though, it feels a bit like a con to me.
It's like whatever you take a shot of - even if it's just an old gate - demands to be taken seriously.
Feels a bit dishonest.
But of course, when I try explaining it to her, all the words get jumbled up and I can't make her understand.
