Wild Camel Chase ....

We set off this afternoon to do a walk which according to our book took us past a folly built in the shape of a Camel, by Gerald Scarfe, painter and cartoonist, when he lived in the village. We’ve tried before, following directions to the letter. This time we asked in the local shop, but still didn’t find it. Finally, when we knew we just had to be close, I asked at a farm if she knew of the folly. Yes, she did, and it was on private land and not visible from footpath or road. Comfort was had from brownies and tea in the village café, and it had to be our newly emerging camel-lia for a blip when we got home.

You can see the camel Here if the mood takes you!
