FIRST DOWN

in the storeroom, organizing!! I have plenty of time to complete it, but that is me, when I at last start a job, I rather want it to be done. Now that is out of the question at this job, but nevertheless I do my best.
Tomorrow we will travel to Germany, we like the happy foresight that Mischa will join us there after a week.
It seemed, the weather being so bright, although windy, that going to the Zuiderpark was the best idea for my last day here in The Hague.
It is such a joy to be able to walk outside in such a beautiful surrounding. And so many beautiful trees, in blossom or otherwise, and birds in the ponds and on the branches.
I discovered now that a whole colony of herons live and have nests on the little island in the big pond, where the geese stay on the ground. The geese make a lot of noise, but I recognize the sounds of the herons too.
My picture shows one that stands at the shore, the water coloured red by the reflection of a coloured stone bridge nearby. I sat on my knees, really not far from the bird.
Lunch after I had cycled back home, and I had a nap, I had too. Re-organising never an easy and superfluous task.

My haiku:

A heron like a swan
Wants every feather smoothly
Preened and cared for

And the proverb:

Die is al klaar voor zij/hij begon.

Translation: That person is ready before she/he has started.
