Taking the Pi$$
Today saw the launch of the SNP's attempt to force Scottish independence onto the main political stage .... and no doubt months or years of political wrangling.
This sticker has been around longer than the SNP have been the minority government in Scotland and it may not have the sheen or polish of the big yin's newly resurrected SNP, but for me the underlying nationalist trait in both is not pretty - and the sort of behaviour it encourages verges on jingoistic.
From browsing the BBC's forum today it seems that most of the people who want to see an independent Scotland are Londoners who think that England would be better off without Scotland. Eh?
I'm an Englishman living and paying my taxes in Scotland. And an adopted Scot I guess. Anyhow, Mrs42 is Scottish enough for both of us.
For both of us the idea of Scottish independence is really not good ... and after all the rhetoric and emotional issues have blown away, the bottom line is I just can't see any practical benefit.
Haven't we got better things to be doing with our expensive political time? World peace, cure for cancer, dealing with a recession? Anyone? Not that a minority government is ever going to get an independence vote passed anyway!
Oh yes - happy St Andrew's Day :-)
I took better pictures today, but this one seemed appropriate.

LOTD: I love hiraeth's "Put that phone down!" blip - great montage and feel to the shots and the accompanying storytelling is fab too. An early unstaged favourite for me!
