Jury duty

I have been a US citizen for just over a year and I have already been summoned for jury duty, selected to be a juror yesterday, and closed the case today. It all happened behind those doors.
I'm glad to have served as a juror in a civil case and not a criminal case. I found the experience interesting but I didn't like the feeling that comes with making a decision that could, and most likely will, impact the life of someone I don't even know.
