I wonder sometimes about Social Networking.

I use it to track the whereabouts of my kids. To entertain and amuse, and to speak daily to mei mater.

Occasionally funny little things do the rounds and people enter weird comments in their status updates; "6.5" long " "On the floor right behind the door" "blue" "pink with Dots".

They have appeared as a result of a round robin message sent as a Private message to all your contacts". Typically they start "To raise awareness of...." and then suggests what you should do.

This weeks, has been "Naked Selfies" to raise awareness of cancer. Last night, hundreds of "naked selfies" (they weren't actually naked, faces were stripped of makeup). were popping up all over the place.

Ladies moaned and groaned, but all played along. Awareness wasn't so much as being raised, as lovely ladies complimented each other on their natural beauty. Some people confused said "I don't get this, what is it doing for cancer"

I commented back - "nothing it's an experiment in social networking". But I was wrong....

It did do something... cancer charities jumped on the bandwagon. Posted their "naked selfies" with a donation line number...
