Autumn Sunrise

There was a hush over the landscape as the sun began to rise, filling the sky with shades of vibrance on this calm autumnal morning. Lights flicked on as people rose, a few toots down the line as the Coastal Pacific train travelling from Christchurch to Kaikoura drew closer to our small town, the noise of traffic increased as early morning workers headed to work while the sunrise went through its many phases, pink clouds making way to orange, yellow and slowly fading to white as daybreak progressed.

It was to be a good day, some time spent with my mum, walkingS, a little mall shopping together and then a stroll down by the lakes before doing our weekly grocery shop.

Time now to put the groceries away and prepare tea - salad, potatoes and cold meat, another easy meal.
