Track night
I quite like the track.
It's meditative in it's repetitiveness. It's easy to do mental calculations cos it's so regular. It's nice bouncy surface.
And I quite like just turning up and being told what to do. I don't get to trade of with myself in my head..."Right, if I just do another mile and then turn around, I can always do a longer run tomorrow..." "I've done well on this uphill bit, so I should probably ease off now, especially if I'm going to race next weekend..."
None of that. Just simple, dumb, hard work. Lovely.
