The Greatest Day
"He is not here; he has risen, just as He said. Come and see the place where He lay." Matthew 28:6
Today was worship practice evening. It got announced on Sunday that we are going to be playing on Easter Sunday for the first time, so we are practising songs for this!! Eek. I play the keyboard alongside a bass and some drums, so I am the music to provide the melody and the backing, which is not what I am used to, I am used to playing alongside a guitar. Hopefully, I am getting the hang of it, it is quite difficult to tell, but James says it sounds ok in his headphones. The picture is of one of the songs we are practising, we managed to play this one all the way through the first time we played it, so this is a good sign I hope.
I chose this Bible verse because this is what this song is talking about, the day that Jesus rose from the dead, "death is beaten, You have rescued me". We worship a living God, he is no longer in a grave, but rose again. What an amazing and probably worrying sight to begin with this must have been for the two women who went to visit Jesus' grave. This is available to us as well, we can experience the presence of the living God every day in our lives and know that He is alive and with us....
