Owl eye

Startled to see owls looking out of a shop window in Kendal. On further investigation they were part of a display for the The Owl Sanctuary to raise awareness and educate the public on the plight of rescued owls. Their aim is to return all rescued wild owls back into to the wild. The owls today were either domestic bred or had been injured in such a way so as to prevent rehabilitation into the wild.
This owl is a Eurasian Eagle owl called Oscar who sat on my arm for 10 minutes while I chatted with the centre's founder. A stunning bird who was very placid and loved having his neck scratched. The experience simply made my day if not week or month!
