Er Ah Oo

We are young.
We can walk in the rain
without our coats on
if we want to.

Are we getting wet?
Either it runs off our backs
or we just don’t notice it.

We can conduct a serious conversation
as we make our way along the street,
as we head further into our futures,
as we take a few small steps
into the many years ahead.

We might be putting the world right
for all you know.

Or we might just be making crude noises:
‘Er.’ ‘Ah.’ ‘Oo.’
