Carole's birthday lunch

This is a picture of the Thursday swimming mums celebrating our friend Carole's birthday. Helen, Jennie and Clare have just finished singing Happy Birthday with the children who are all dressed as princesses apart from one Peppa Pig who is hidden from view. Heidi my strange child is sucking a wedge of lime!

There was really bad traffic on the way back from the supermarket so I arrived with 5 minutes before everyone descended for lunch. We did a flash mob soup i.e. we worked together and made chorizo, cabbage, chilli and tomato soup in about 15 mins. Carole was the narrator reading the recipe, Jennie washed up and chopped, Helen stirred and I threw it all in, Clare was upstairs wrapping Carole's present and the girls were all dressing up as princesses! It was delicious soup, topped with lime wedges. I had made Carole a Nigellas maple syrup cake and I just had to make the dreamy icing with the electric whisk that Clare had brought from her house, Jennie chopped the pecans that were sprinkled on it, team effort. Good lunch.
