Major Snow Day for Salt Spring Island

Power was out for 24hours and the internet was down for 6 days. With no power and an untried generator I thought -No Problemo - Wrong! the battery the starts the generator was dead - so with nothing else to do I decided to brave the elements and drive over the mounts to get a new one. Got to the top of Stewart and met someone going the other way - good sign I thought until he stopped and told me there as a huge tree down across the road and thus impassable. Turn around and go to Fulford and up Lee's Hill but on the way branches like these were coming down all over the place......should have had better sense but got into town and back in only4 hours :-)
