Falkland Palace. Fife. Scotland
The palace was built by two kings, James IV & V between 1450 and 1541.
The Stuart Kings and Queens liked to visit here including Mary Queen of Scots who probably played tennis in the grounds, ( it is the oldest tennis court in Britain )
Some restoration work was done by the 3rd Marquess of Bute, in Victorian times, but the Palace remains a an atmospheric and lovely Reaissance building.
Today it is in the care of the National Trust and serves as a tourist attraction.
Weddings are still held here in summer and Autumn.
