P-pick up a penguin

Today N took us for a drive around the peninsula: Chapmans Peak, Hout Bay, Kalk Bay and this place - Boulders Beach. The colony of African penguins has grown from one breeding pair in 1982 to the present population of over 2000.

It was brilliant to get so close and see them carrying on their lives, completely unconcerned by our presence - and they are genuinely funny too!
