Elder

Sambucus. One of the first hedgerow trees along the lane to start coming into leaf is the elder, seen here silhouetted against the evening sky.

I am looking forward to the flowers - might even have another try at elderflower champagne although last time it proved disastrous with bottles exploding like bombs all over the garage!
