SAMS GATE

This has intrigued me for a while as I drove past, so today I stopped to have a closer look.
The small plaque to the side reads:
'Samuel Tomlinson
Sycamore Farm, Littlemoor,
was a long serving loyal member and valued helper at Ashover Show'
I never met the chap, but it's refreshing, just for a change, to see he didn't have a bench named after him.
Instead they made 'SAMS GATE'
