Full Moon

A full and robust moon shot my late night walk into negative. Trees loomed on either side like ominous dark knights casting their deep shadows across my path. The familiar fields, though clearly visible, were subdued and seemed to stretch for miles under the incorrigibly bright moon.

My tentative lonely walk to Millers bridge was made the more absurd when the silence was interrupted by a tiny whine. I looked to find that my black cat had decided to accompany me, or perhaps I interrupted his late night prowl. We stalked the night together then diving for refuge in the ditch for the two cars that blasted into this impossibly still, mild night.

The reckless wind and downpours of the last weeks were soon forgotten in this especially delivered night of the first day of December.

Well done Old Mills for setting the scene with the lovely evening at the book launch of the Vanishing Ireland book this evening.
