Honey Bee
Scientific name: Apis mellifera
Common name: Honey Bee
Maori name: Po honi
The honey bee was first introduced to New Zealand in 1839 and is now found throughout the country, one of the few truly beneficial introduced species.
I'm noticing less bumble bees and more honey bees as my garden becomes more autumnal, this one enjoying my flowering sedum.
A quiet day doing house jobs and a little gardening. Blue sky with a autumnal bite in the air with a cool easterly breeze keeping the temperature to 19C.
I'm chuffed you all enjoyed yesterdays 'Solitude' shot, thank you for the stars, hearts and lovely words sending it to spotlight :)
Enjoy the weekend everyone :)
