Natural Spa Park
A lazy late afternoon as locals and tourists, old and young, gathered at the confluence of this hot stream and the Waikato. The water was as hot as you wanted it - move down stream for cooler. A pretty happy place tho I wish the young Tourists would not use the F word so much while they sucked their beers. Also went to the local market. I always love the atmosphere. And buying from the producers in this case lovely green ginger and melon chutney. Watched young farmers competing on the Taupo domain. Saw the waters of the Arataitai Dam being released. The pools and rapids downstream rise at least three metres over five minutes. They do the release for 15 mins five times a day. Quite exciting. Great shots of wild swans and ducks above the Dam. Found the National Equestrian Centre (quiet). Also saw some beautiful glass goblets being blown. Such fun being a tourist in my own country
