The reason for the season

The town council christmas decorations are up and the lights have been officially switched on, but this sculpture sits in a fairly prominent position in the town. I always enjoy walking past it and taking a moment to reflect, part of me wishes it was displayed all year so we can all remember the impact this child had on our lives and civilsation.

My moment of calm and reflection quickly disappeared on my return to the office during a difficult conversation with a Social Worker - sorry to all social workers in blipland - but I could have cheerfully strangled this person who we have been liasing with for 8 months but her and her team have successfully achieved nothing for their client/our tenant, have failed to invite us to important meetings to discuss the issues and the end result is me asking a solicitor to arrange an eviction of an old/frail lady. This could all have been avoided if the agencies concerned had talked to us and listened to us. What is it with agencies who won't/don't do joined up thinking and working together - none of us will come out of this in a good light! - Rant over, thank you for bearing with me!!

Accident on the road home, which meant a diversion and delay, then arrived home to find no where to park on the street, and finally no word to confirm the exchange of our house sale/purchase has gone through as promised today :( umphhhhh

On the plus side I only have one more staff appraisal to do (tomorrow), I received two very positive comments about members of my team, a big meeting with the senior bods in the office has been deferred for two weeks giving me time to prepare properly and next week I'm going up to Manchester to spend a couple of days with my mum.
