Sugar flowers

Utterly spoilt for blips today. Either from an early morning walk round Knaresborough on a beautiful sunny but fresh morning. It's a lovely spot with its checkered black and white houses - all started by a chess enthusiast in the 19th century apparently, apparently, who wished to show his passion for the game by painting the exterior of his house like a chess board.

Or from the family wedding where our nephew Ian Baxter was tying the knot. The setting was lovely at Goldsborough Hall and while the rain might have held off a bit longer it was a great day.

The groom's mother and a friend decorated the cake with these flowers they made themselves. Two weeks ago they only knew there would be roses so the past fortnight has seen a hive of activity.

The effects are so lifelike. Too good to eat!

Great catching up with the family, some of whom we've not seen for a couple of years. Our niece Alison for example had been out in Canterbury in NZ helping redesign part of the city centre park area after the earthquake there. So lots of news and chat.
