Thorpe Woods Day 4.

Archery this morning and the big zip wire. Then Raft building in the afternoon. No shots of that, as it is inevitable that everyone will end up in the river so didn't take the camera.

It never ceases to amaze me the faith 14yr olds put in a few plastic barrels, some lumps of wood and a few lengths of rope!

At least I am getting wet this week. Even if it isn't surfing.

I did a similar job to the one the instructors do here in Ohio in 1999. I know how hard it can be and also how rewarding.

The night hike tonight was a joy to behold. Sorry if this next bit sounds bad but be assured all the kids laughed about it later. They walked through the woods being told stories. People jumped out at them, screamed, ran through the woods and grabbed them on the raft crossing the river! The best bit was the 6ft by 5ft barrel that was dropped from one of the high rope courses. Needless to say it made a rather loud noise. At this point 1 girl fainted and 2 went into hysterics. I think we did our job a little too well.

By the time we had calmed the kids down and got them to bed and sat around for a couple of hours with what was left of the camp fire, the sun started to come up!

I am now very tired!

Daz.
