Glory of the snow ‘Pink Giant'

I've been trying to get a decent shot of these lovely little flowers for a few weeks now, and I think today's probably my last chance before they go past their best. They're always the first flowers to bloom in the garden and despite the name grow to the heady heights of 20cm.

The pink is so delicate it's really hard to capture in camera so there's been a few tweaks in Photoshop to try and show it to you. Firstly a low opacity tone map to pull out the colour a bit, a silverefex layer for detail again at low opacity and then a final hue and saturation tweak to pull the colours back again before a final vignette in Lightroom.

Hope you've had a good weekend. Almost time to tackle dinner - roast lamb shoulder for us tonight.
