A somewhat narcissistic river
The source of the River Dee lies at a height of some 4,000 feet in the Lairig Ghru and is the highest source of any major river in the British Isles. The River Thames by contrast stems from a somewhat embarrassing 356 feet which, in old money, must be less than four centipedes at the very most.
So although many folk currently accuse the River Dee of being a somewhat narcissistic river, with a length from source to sea of a mere 140 km (87 miles in old money), it can probably claim whatever it likes, that is until Independence of course.
