Time to reflect...

Late this afternoon we took ourselves off to the local woods/park/canal/pool and found some really lovely light and many many reflection moments.

This is a very short section of an old canal which local volunteers have been trying hard to restore on and off for some years. It had a lot of money spent on it a few years ago as it had sprung a leak in its embankment and was flooding the factory units below. Unfortunately, nobody seems to have the energy to actually do anything with it and so the reeds are generally taking over It is very popular with dog walkers and is a haven for a variety of wildlife. You may also be able to see on the left hand side a miniature train track where a local enthusiast used to run a small steam engine giving children and adults rides up and down the track at weekends. That hasn't operated for some time either.

Meanwhile, Mother Nature provides us with time to reflect on the beauty of the world around us.
