Goodbye Terri!
The day began with the wonderful sound of Ted retching in the bedroom (lovely alarm clock!) and an early start. I bought breakfast for me and Ali on the way to work and we later sent a cast member out for chi tea for us both. Gotta love Sunday mornings at TDS - figures and croissants!
As I didn't get to see Terri after our run last night because she went to bed, she assured me she would come to the Store today to do the opening ceremony.
Sure enough at 10 o'clock, Terri was waiting outside behind the stanchions and the big lock for the ceremony to begin.
It was a very heartfelt and enthusiastic ceremony from all the team that was in and she got her replica key that she wanted as her parting gift.
After a brief tour of the Store for her mum, Terri was getting ready to leave and I gave her the recipe book present. She went through each page and laughed at all the fun memories and photos; I think she liked it.
The day was a bit of a busy blur and as usual we stayed later to get everything finished off.
I had started watching Saving Mr Banks on my lunch break and decided to stay in the cast room to watch the rest before going home. Ciara and Sinead joined me for our favourite bit when Mrs Travers dances with Don Da Gradi to 'Lets go Fly a Kite'. Then Ciara and I watched until the end and got ready to go home.
Unfortunately afterwards there were tears on my part for Ciara after hearing some sad news, but there was best friending to be done and I tried to be reassuring and offer sound advice. We shared big hugs and a parting promise to spend our next day off together in our PJs watching movies and cooking mac n cheese in a cosy house with Ted.
I arrived home to a cup of tea and kisses to my broken (not really but very sore) hand before sausage and chips tea that Luke made a cut up for me so I didn't have to use my bad hand!
Today I am grateful for good friends who confide in me and make me value their friendship even more.
