Little Owl

Really?

Another trip to Flitwick Moor hopefully this time to get a photo of the Lesser Spotted Woodpecker, stopped off at Sandy Smith Nature Reserve on the way there and on the way back to see it the resident Little Owl was in residence. It was exactly where Stefan had said it should be on both occasions, but fast asleep at least I think it was - it's the right shape, it's in the right place, but I could be convinced it's simply a knot in the tree. A future visit is required, hopefully it'll be either awake or gone and therefore I'll know it's not a knot. Anyhow back to the target for today the Lesser Spots - no sight or sound , but RCB did find a Great Spotted Woodpecker - further visits required.
