Fighting Drakes
It's Spring time and the hormones are raring to go. First time back at Nanpantan Reservoir since returning from Iceland, on a sunny, but cold and windy morning, to find all the waterfowl strutting their stuff. The swans have selected a patch of reed where the Canada Geese laid their eggs last year. The foxes will have the eggs.
Two pairs of Canada Geese are honking noisily. The males are displaying. I wonder if the one that makes the loudest noise is the most successful.
And even the mallard ducks have caught Spring fever. Here, two drakes are having an intense water fight
