Birmingham Cathedral

I don't think many people would identify this cathedral very easily. It's the Cathedral in the centre of Birmingham and is certainly not as widely known as St Paul's or the cathedrals of Canterbury, York or Winchester. (Perhaps it would make a good question for "Pointless")

I was in town for a very nice lunch date at Opus.

Opus is owned and run by the chef, David Colcombe, who has been made an Honorary Fellow and Visiting Professor of Culinary Arts, this is a stylish and interesting modern restaurant. It is opposite the much more famous establishment that is the flagship of chef, Glyn Purnell's restaurant.

David's food was wonderful. The maître d' said that he was actually cooking today. I asked him to pass on the compliment that the hake was cooked perfectly - met with smiles.

As I headed towards Cornwall Street from House of Fraser (Rackhams to those in the know), I couldn't resist this busy shot of the Cathedral.
