In a city full of strangers...
When You're a Stranger
His name is Kevin, from Pittsburgh, but he lives in Brooklyn, and he was immediately amenable to being photographed for this project. I interrupted his Sunday afternoon reading of the New York Review of Books, but he claimed not to mind at all. Like Michael Furey in the "The Dead," his people are from Oughterard. Thanks, Kevin.
It was a little difficult to switch back to a disposable camera (the viewfinder seemed to be about half the size of my pupil), so I hope the photo turned out okay.
If I hadn't been taking part in the Blip-a-Stranger-stravaganza, I would have posted this photo for today. After breakfast (with RFJTM), my friend from Cape Town (HT) and I strolled uptown to the Guggenheim to see one of the best exhibitions I've seen in years--on Futurism. It was exhilarating. So much so that this random punter had no idea that everyone standing behind him was giggling.
