Nelson's Ship in a Bottle

This is the largest ship in a bottle in the world.

It is displayed outside the National Maritime Museum, Greenwich.
Nelson’s Ship in a Bottle by Yinka Shonibare MBE is a 1:30 replica of Nelson’s flagship, HMS Victory, on which he died during the Battle of Trafalgar on 21 October 1805. It has 80 cannon and 37 sails set as on the day of battle. The richly patterned sails were inspired by Indonesian batik, mass-produced by Dutch traders and sold in West Africa.

In other news, today was my first official day at Plumstead Manor school. It turns out I am just shadowing the guy that I am taking over for for the next week (or TWO) so I am getting paid to observe. A bit boring, but a great way to ease into the role and prepare myself for the next term.
