Penny Selcouth Challenge

In a recent TV show we saw on the function of the brain, most people believe that repetition improves memory. The rarely known, unusual, strange fact is almost all US citizens can not pick out the real penny...even though they probably have handled it all their lives. Without Googling the answer (I realize not everyone is familiar with the US coin.) can you pick out the real penny?
