The monument to Robert The Bruce at Bannockburn.
Robert The Bruce
King of Scots
1306-1329
The Battle of Bannockburn took place on the 23rd and 24th of June 1314. The iconic battleaxe of Bruce (not in shot) was put too good use on the first day of the battle as he decpitated Henry de Bohun with it. On the Second day Bruce and his men routed proud Edwards (II) army, not before forcing them into the Bannock burn where many of them drowned or were trampled in the ensuing stampede that erupted as the English retreated from the battlefield.
Nowadays we struggle to get a goal against them,
if only Bruce was a centre furrit alive today he wid bang them in fur sure, up there beside Bruce wid be John Loudon Macadam cause he kens the road to goal. Wallace would be in the centre o defence Braveheart defending, James Watt would be in the middle o the park cause hes goat a guid engine in him, aheid o him would be big Tam Telford as he kin engineer passes o er the park.
Maybe then we might be able to send them hamewards to think again. No like the big bunch o dunderheids we huv playin at the minute!
Thursday night is the usual game of football after work and it turned out to be a good game of 4 aside with all the usual flair and talent.
