Still life with onion

It was wet and horrid outdoors today, and even a regular walk was postponed in favour of coffee and stories.

Quite a story too, as my friend's husband has just discovered he has a 29 year old half-sister whose existence he knew nothing of until last week.

So, with one thing and another, not the best day for getting out and finding the right shot.

Then, when I was preparing our evening meal, the meat on the board suddenly triggered a memory of Dutch still life paintings which had disturbed me greatly when I went to see them - was it in London?

The beef stroganoff was delicious by the way, but we see plenty of photos of finished foodstuffs.
