Sangría
The sun is shining and the smell of lemon blossom is in the air and so the time is right for our first jug of sangría of 2014. Sabine in our local bar makes a bespoke concoction that's as lethal as it is flavoursome. She starts with ice and a sprinkling of sugar before getting serious by adding vodka, gin, brandy, vermouth, red wine and casera (A Spanish form of lemonade). There is one more alcoholic addition, apart from me that is, that we are sworn to secrecy on. If we told you what it is we would have to kill you. You can have a guess though. Five stars to the first in with the correct answer.
