Installation day.
We decided that we ought o make our spare cash "work" for us rather than sit in the bank at the present trifling rates of interest, so installation of solar panels on the roof seemed like a sensible investment, producing up to 3kW per hour, as well as representing a small contribution to reducing greenhouse gases.
The man on the ladders carried 12 panels up to the top of the house (one a at a time of course!), quite an impressive feat of balance and strength, so after a day's installation work involving four men (two inside and two on the roof) we are up and running with our own generated electricity flowing through our meter. Quite satisfactory and worthwhile. Now we just want the sun to shine on us!
