Mono with red!

Red, as in red-bellied woodpecker or RBW, cannot be blipped in complete monotones. Without that lovely red head, it would just be an ordinary bird...well, almost ordinary. So today I decided to play around with desaturation and then adding back in the red tones. What do you think? does it do the RBW justice? He was the only bird that was willing to pose for a portrait today. I didn't have too much in the way of blip choices. Apparently the animals aren't any happier with the cold weather than I am!

Weather update: Still cold here and colder tomorrow by all reports. Next week, however, may be the beginning of a slow warm up. It's about time, wouldn't you say? After all, next week is the beginning of April.
