The Endemic Magpie Moth – Nyctemera annulata

First time I have managed to capture one of these intriguing moths. They look rather plain when looking at them straight on but in flight you can see the vibrant orange stripes on its abdomen. I chased this one for a while trying to get a good angle and at one point it landed on the end of my telephoto lens which was rather entertaining but kind of counter productive when trying to take its picture. I felt rather privileged to see it so close however.
