Millennium Sampler #3

This is the third section of my Millennium Sampler which I completed on 1st January 2000. These two panels show the Columbia space shuttle which was the first shuttle to achieve orbit in 1981. It was sadly lost along with all its crew when it exploded shortly after take off in January 2003. The other panel commemorates the Montgolfier brothers first hot air balloon flight which paved the way for man to begin to explore the earth from the air.
