St Mary's lifeboat.
The promise of some sunshine took us to Mount Batten Marina for lunch at The Bridge Restaurant ( sounds all very grand but it was only fish and chips ). As we entered the car park, on the adjacent quay there was a Severn Class lifeboat suspended from a cradle , which I thought would be a good blip after lunch. However by the time lunch was over the lifeboat was back in the water. Later discovered it is based at St Mary's on the Isles of Scilly, so I guess it came over for some form of refit. A cold easterly wind blowing along the river, together with our inappropriate clothing for walking soon drove us back to the car.
