Yellow Slacks

This attractive section of the Yellow Slacks ridge on Bleaklow always catches my eye.

Out this morning on counting birds for BTO Birdtrack there were sone fine sights including a Green Woodpecker making lots of noise chased about the wood by two Jays making even more noise.

Nearer to the moors there was a moment when the sky contained 1 Buzzard, 2 Sparrowhawks and 1 Kestrel sneaking past while the others were in dispute.

The farmland below Yellow Slacks had a field full of birds among the sheep 41 BH Gulls, 17 Lapwing, a few Curlew and a number of corvids a mix of Rooks and Jackdaws.

The migrant moorland birds still seem to be absent from this section of the Peak District.
