Snow Bird
My first full day back from Florida and the temperatures have barely gone up above freezing. I had plans for going out and doing a bunch of errands but decided to stay in and go through my photographs from my trip.
I scattered a bunch of bird food on the snow just after sunrise and by 8 AM, the yard was full of cardinals, sparrows, and snow birds. I slowly raised the kitchen window about 4 inches and poked the camera lens outside. Within minutes I got some pretty awesome shots of a female and male cardinals. I tried getting some shots of the snow birds but all I ended up with was black faces (no detail). Then this snow bird flew on a sunlit branch and stayed for about five minutes. I snapped off about a dozen pictures and then spent an hour trying to decide which one to blip. A closer view here...
Thank you all for the wonderful comments, stars, and favs over the past couple of days. My Glasswinged Butterfly from Sunday even made it to the Blipfoto Facebook page. I'm totally thrilled with that!
Back to doing laundry, cooking dinner, and then prepping for my first day back at work...
