View of the Quayside from Castle keep

Nice view of Moot hall and the Quayside from the top of castle keep.

Moot Hall is a Georgian building, made in 1812.

The iconic Tyne Bridge was opened in 1928, it's design was based on the Hell Gate Bridge in New York City and also the plans for Sydney Harbour bridge (although Newcastle bridge was completed 3 years before Sydney harbour bridge, Sydney's bridge started construction first and it's plans were used to inspire a smaller version in Newcastle).

In the background is Gateshead Millennium bridge, which is for pedestrians and cyclists and opened in 2001. It is sometimes called the "winking eye" due to its shape when it tilts up to allow boats to pass below it.

The Metallic building is The Sage. A music and conference venue opened in 2004.

In the far distance, beside the millennium bridge is The Baltic centre for Contemporary art. It is a converted flour mill with constantly changing exhibitions, opened in 2002.

Love this view.
