An Orphaned Land, 2013

A real treat this evening, to meet up with Stuart, and hear him talk about one of his recent digital artworks. Fascinating to discover all the symbolism in the piece, based in the city of Jerusalem, the veil in the temple, Jewish symbols, photographs, street signs, tensions in the city, his observations, words from the Old Testament book of Lamentations. His work is so fine and detailed, and interesting that this was all created in photoshop.

I featured another of Stuart's artworks a couple of years ago, The Last Supper, which now hangs in Langside Parish Church. All the characters are members of his family.
