Reviens enfin chez moi

Well, not exactly my home...but Becky's. I arrived very early in the morning in Ouistreham, only to find that all public transport was free for the day. How perfect is that? The bus driver also decided to ignore all bus stops and diversions, and we got into Caen fifteen minutes after leaving!

Just before meeting up with Becky I ended up giving a couple a whistle-stop virtual tour of what they should see in Caen...no idea why they asked a total stranger, but hey ho...I didn't mind.

So the first thing Becky and I did when we met up was go to one of our old haunts, the aptly named Les Touristes for a coffee and a very long catch up. After going back to her apartment for breakfast, we didn't hadn't stopped talking! It was then that I started to get in touch with Thomas and Thibaud to see when they would be coming round...the cheeky buggers get sending me pictures of themselves still in bed and saying that they would be getting up "soon". What I didn't know was that they were already dressed and ready, and heading to the apartment to surprise me! Once arrived, Thibaud promptly fell asleep on the bed (he had been out the night before), leaving Thomas, Becky and I to catch up.

He did, of course, wake up a little while after for this photograph. So once more Thomas and Thibaud grace my Blip...it is great to be back.

We then all waited for the final member of the gang to turn up. And Kendra turned up at French time...so the first thing we did was meet her outside and get some food for lunch! Something Kendra said definitely rang true:-


"It is like you've never been away."


And to be honest, I don't feel like I have...it is so strange to slip suddenly back into a old friendship group and feel like nothing has changed. Strange in a good way of course. I love it.

My evening was spent at an electoral debate for the city of Caen with Thomas, Emilie and Kendra...before Kendra and I bowed out early as I was so knackered from being up so early!

I just cannot put into words how good it is to be back.
